At the Pool

What will be different?  Loads….where do we start?  Maybe at the first gate you walk through…

ARRIVAL AT THE POOL

The green gate with safety knob will be left open as this is one less point of contact for you all. Parents therefore must be vigilant with children in the foyer when getting shoes on and ensure children do not leave without them to ensure safety on the driveway.

Hand Sanitizer will be stationed inside the green gate – please use this before entering into the foyer.  Both parents and children should sanitise their hands upon arrival.

The first foyer area will still be where we leave our shoes. Please be aware of others in this space and try to spread yourselves out if a few people are in this area at the same time.

The magnets on the wall and the fun lock board attached to the wall have been removed for now.  We encourage parents to not linger in this area for longer than needed.

GETTING CHANGED – PRESCHOOL PROGRAMME (5mth – 5yrs)

We are asking ALL swimmers (parents and children) to please come to the pool in their swimwear where possible.  We acknowledge that our tight changing room area is problematic.

Babies and Toddlers who are not toilet trained and are wearing swimming nappies will need to get changed out of everyday nappies into their swimming ones when you arrive. Do not transport your baby/child in their swimming nappies as they do not contain urine (only faecal matter).

When you arrive, get changed as usual and leave all bags under the change tables.

We will be opening up our Staff Change room and will have a nappy pad on the floor in this room for you. This enables us to spread out people when getting changed.

For those who can come in their swimwear (and possibly go home in swimwear) there will be new baskets in the second foyer area for swimmers to leave their towels/jackets/dressing gowns in.  If you can bypass the changing room area totally then this is our preferred procedure.

GETTING CHANGED – AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMME (5yrs +)

We are asking ALL swimmers (parents and children) to please come to the pool in their swimwear where possible.  We are attempting to reduce the use of change rooms during these times as we acknowledge the space is tight.

For those who can come & go in their swimwear (and hopefully this is the majority of our swimmers) there will be new baskets in the second foyer area for swimmers to leave their towels/jackets/dressing gowns in.  If you can bypass the changing room area totally then this is our preferred procedure.

WAITING POOLSIDE FOR YOUR LESSON TO START

Please wait for your class to start by sitting on the GREEN & WHITE SEATS which will be placed down by the playpen. We will spread these out as much as is possible but are realistic that our space is tight.  If there is not enough space or you feel uncomfortable being too close to others, then you can wait in the second foyer – it is always warm here.

ENTERING AND EXITING YOUR LESSONS

We are adapting our entry into the pool for Older Babies groups upwards.  Instead of entering the pool down the steps as usual, we will be entering via a safe entry (a good chance to practise this skill) from the deep end of the pool.  The previous group will exit the pool via the steps so participants in consecutive classes do not need to pass each other on poolside.
